Its historical journey reflects a transformation from a royal center, to a colonial city, and ultimately to a modern city developing within the context of urbanization and tourism.<\/p><h3 data-start=\"469\" data-end=\"521\"><strong data-start=\"473\" data-end=\"521\">1. The Pajajaran Kingdom Period (Pre-Colonial Era)<\/strong><\/h3><ul data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"921\"><li data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"921\"><p data-start=\"525\" data-end=\"921\">Bogor\u2019s early history began as <strong data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"580\">Pakuan Pajajaran<\/strong>,which was the capital <strong data-start=\"606\" data-end=\"624\">of Sundanese Kingdom<\/strong> in the 15th\u201316th centuries. This city became the political, economic, and cultural center of Sundanese society at that time. In archaeological and historiographical studies, Pakuan Pajajaran is described as a densely populated settlement and a major city in West Java during the medieval period.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h3 data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"968\"><strong data-start=\"927\" data-end=\"968\">2. The Dutch Colonial Period (Buitenzorg)<\/strong><\/h3><ul data-start=\"970\" data-end=\"1598\"><li data-start=\"970\" data-end=\"1391\"><p data-start=\"972\" data-end=\"1391\">Under Dutch colonialism, Bogor was known as <strong data-start=\"1021\" data-end=\"1035\">Buitenzorg<\/strong> (meaning \u2018without worries\u2019) and it was made an important administrative center as well as the summer residence of the Dutch Governors-General. This marked Bogor\u2019s transformation from a royal center into a colonial city closely tied to the administrative power of the VOC and later the Dutch East Indies government.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1392\" data-end=\"1598\"><p data-start=\"1394\" data-end=\"1598\">The colonial era was also characterized by the development\/construction of <strong data-start=\"1434\" data-end=\"1450\">Bogor Palace<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1455\" data-end=\"1475\">Bogor Botanical Garden<\/strong>, which became a symbol of power and an important center for botanical research in Southeast Asia.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h3 data-start=\"1600\" data-end=\"1675\"><strong data-start=\"1604\" data-end=\"1675\">3. Historical Connections to Urbanization and Tourism (Scientific Study)<\/strong><\/h3><ul data-start=\"1677\" data-end=\"2215\"><li data-start=\"1677\" data-end=\"2215\"><p data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"2215\"><strong data-start=\"1679\" data-end=\"1712\">Agustina Multi Purnomo (2021)<\/strong> in her article <em data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"1779\">Urbanization and Tourism Development in Bogor City<\/em> (jurnal <strong data-start=\"1788\" data-end=\"1799\">Society<\/strong>, Vol. 9 No. 1) uses a historical approach to show how <strong data-start=\"1875\" data-end=\"1933\">Bogor\u2019s urbanization has been underway since the period of the kingdom<\/strong> and continued to develop through the colonial period, eventually becoming part of <strong data-start=\"1998\" data-end=\"2033\">Jakarta Metropolitan Area (JMA)<\/strong>. This study also links Bogor\u2019s long history to the development of the tourism sector, which has now become one of the city\u2019s economic pillars.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h3 data-start=\"2217\" data-end=\"2263\"><strong data-start=\"2221\" data-end=\"2263\">4. Social Change and Urban Identity<\/strong><\/h3><ul data-start=\"2265\" data-end=\"2575\"><li data-start=\"2265\" data-end=\"2575\"><p data-start=\"2267\" data-end=\"2575\">After Indonesia\u2019s independence, Bogor continued to evolve, becoming a modern city with <strong data-start=\"2341\" data-end=\"2408\">a significant role in education, government, and tourism.<\/strong>Colonial and pre-colonial heritage remains visible through various historical sites and old buildings scattered throughout the city.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h3 data-start=\"2577\" data-end=\"2627\"><strong data-start=\"2581\" data-end=\"2627\">5.
